At Nourish, our best ideas come from our clients, which means that when they talk, we listen carefully! Here, in their own words, are some of their views about Nourish services they’ve experienced. We hope they inspire you as much as they inspire us.
Before coaching I would say my health conscious efforts were to listen to Dr. Oz (or The Doctors) and try to implement whatever lesson that made sense to my life the most. I would try to eat better one week, stop all alcohol drinking the next week, and workout hardcore the following week. Even though I could focus on each week’s tasks with full attention – the problem I felt was that I didn’t balance all of the important aspects of living a healthy lifestyle to make it a life-long change. It was more jumping from one area to the next. Now, I am aware of what is ahead of me each week because I have the tools and habits to know how to welcome all the different aspects into my life each week. I enjoy all of my meals knowing that thought has been put into keeping a healthy balance, looking forward to going to the gym and knowing what it does for my psyche as well as my body fitness, and allowing myself the relaxation I deserve on the weekends with my family and friends.

I want you to know that I look forward to your blog messages so much! You have helped me to become such a healthier person. Whenever I hear about the latest diet craze, I always think to myself…”What would Cherylanne think about that?” and I quickly put it aside and get back on track with thinking about food as nourishment, not the enemy. I’m just so grateful to you. I’m still a work in progress, but have made some long term changes that are wonderful. Every couple of months, I review the game plan you gave to me and clean any processed junk that has crept into out my pantry and it’s just like you’re here. I try to do meal prep during the day or make freeze-ahead meals, so it’s not so difficult to get a nice meal on the table. That was a huge help for me and I can’t tell you how much I depend on your grocery printout for organizing my grocery purchases. Now, my goal is to get my kids eating more fish and to find healthy snacks (besides granola bars) for my boys (since they burn so many calories swimming now). Lots to do this summer…like I said, I’m a work in progress!
Nourish has changed my life. I am more aware of my overall health and eating habits – I have more energy and am happier! I have lost ten pounds so far and am much more in touch with how I feel when I eat. Learning to listen to my body has been so helpful! ”

Tammy is an wonderful Nourish Mentor! She met me where I was at and together we set out on a new journey. Along the way she encouraged, taught, and cheered me on. She tailored our sessions to what I needed and really listened. The biggest insight for me was that when I focus on eating nutritious food (that tastes great by the way!) then I didn’t have to “try” to lose weight….I just did. I actually crave greens now. I even joined a CSA (consumer supported agriculture) for 2012 so I can help out on a organic farm and incorporate even more nutritious fruits/veggies in my diet this year. Taking time to Nourish myself was a wise decision!

I am so pleased to report that food planning this week has been great – the dinner on Sunday was wonderful (we ended up doing a beef tenderloin instead of pork) and I made the vegetable pot pie at the same time. We ate it on Monday and leftovers yesterday. I have the penne skillet ready to go with the tomatoes chopped but I also baked chicken with carrots and potatoes last night that can be reheated tonight or tomorrow (when I am gone). I also baked squash on Sunday and introduced it to the kids and they ate it. The Greek yogurt, sweetened with agave, was dessert last night. I feel so good about how this is going!

“I was always a bit of a disaster in the kitchen! By the time I perfected a recipe, my husband was sick of eating it! So, more than anything, the cooking lessons have given me confidence in the kitchen. For example, I have always been terrified to try to cook fish, but Diane has taught me that fish can be simple, easy and delicious! My husband is even eating vegetables now! Thank you very much. I have truly enjoyed the lessons and the people at Nourish. I’m sad to be leaving the areas!”

I didn’t really know what to expect on this (Whole Foods) field trip. But Cherylanne was fantastic! She is extremely knowledgeable and I really appreciated her openness to answering individual’s specific questions – because we all had questions relevant to our own lives!
The Whole Foods Training Field Trip was an awesome experience- I feel a LOT less intimidated about shopping there now, and understand a lot more about the options available.
You mentioned a few times about how different foods have different energy- its something that I’ve been thinking for a long time, and even more so now that I’m a vegetarian. I’ve just never heard anyone talk about it before. Personally, I’ve found that quinoa gives me a power-boost and I feel very energetic after eating it. I’m going to do some research into the new foods you pointed out by trying them out and seeing which I like.
Our family LOVES the Nourish@Home service. Thanks so much for making such delicious and healthy meals, the menu has so many great options and ordering was super easy. We are two working parents with young kids and having warm, healthy meals each night is wonderful! Thanks so much!!!

The Nourish @ Home option is fantastic and a great value. Not only is the cost of the service reasonable, my grocery bill is consistent, my refrigerator is stocked with healthy and tasty food options and my family is happy! Importantly, I have two teenage boys both with a drivers license. I have noticed a substantial drop in the amount and cost of fast food they are consuming – primarily because I have great ready to “heat and eat” food in the refrigerator.

Just wanted to tell you what a fabulous service you have with Nourish@Home. The whole process was great – from the food choices, details on what was needed for cooking, and best of all – the cooking and finished product! Thank you Diane for the great food. We had the salmon, rice/lentil salad, and green bean salad tonight and all 3 kids ate it – one loved it all and the other two did much better than usual! THANK YOU!!!

I absolutely loved my Nourish experience! Diane was amazing, personable, and fun to talk to. She was knowledgeable and someone I could really relate to as a mom and wife. As two working parents, dinner can sometimes be the last thing we think about. Walking into the house was simply delightful with the smell of fresh herbs filled my home! When I opened my refrigerator and saw the week of meals prepped for my family it was such a relief. As a busy mom of four small kids dinner time can be a stressful; Nourish@Home helped alleviate that stress. I knew I could concentrate on the kids’ activities and come home to a healthy meal with very little extra effort; my husband couldn’t have been happier! Thank you so much for your guidance and positive perspective. I’ve found your presentation to be immensely helpful over the last week, in thinking about how to plan and getting the “rhythm of the week” down BEFORE shopping.
During a particularly trying time, Dr. Stevenson is a supportive, kind and reasoned-voice. Her ability to listen and understand has been a lifesaver. Her treatment plan is well thought out and doesn’t involve unnecessary tests or doctor visits. I will continue to work with her and would recommend her to anyone that is not getting what they need from those in the “traditional” medical field. Dr. Stevenson reminds me of my dogs’ veterinarian (not the doctors I have typically seen)……caring, always willing to answer a question, quick response time…..I don’t think I could give her any higher praise!
Dr. Stevenson has given me hope after years of unsuccessful treatment for anxiety and depression. For over ten years I have tried and failed traditional approaches to treating depression. Unlike other healthcare providers I have seen, Dr. Stevenson took the time to fully understand my medical history, to assess my current medical issues, and to understand how my life circumstances were supporting or hurting my health. Whenever I have questions or concerns, Dr. Stevenson is extremely responsive and thoughtful. She has given me the tools I need to manage my anxiety. I am truly grateful for the time she has taken to really understand my health concerns and to offer practical and effective solutions. The healing relationship I have developed with Dr. Stevenson has given me optimism and has opened up many possibilities for managing my anxiety and depression.
